Adelaide raider Alcohol returned to the scene of his first win for a feature victory in the Travis Harrison Cup (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The Bianconi gelding had won his maiden in a $100,000 Super VOBIS event at Moonee Valley in December 2011 and he also scored at Flemington on a subsequent trip to Melbourne.  “He’s a talented horse but strained a tendon as a four year-old,” trainer Richard Jolly said.  “He only raced twice in 18 months and was given plenty of time to recover.”

Alcohol (7g Bianconi – Tendue by General Nediym) has only been out of a place once in 8 starts this season.  He cost $25,000 from Lauriston Thoroughbreds at the 2010 Adelaide Magic Millions and has earned $323,630 for a syndicate from Penfolds Wines.

His younger brother Alcobro has won three races and was stakes placed in the LR Nitschke Stakes (1400m) at Morphettville on Anzac Day.

Bianconi also has Hadda Couple going extra well for rookie trainer Jeremy Kenny.  He completed a running double at Donald and Morphettville in May and has been nominated for Morphettville again this Saturday.

Ridgeview Park will stand Bianconi for a $5,500 (inc gst) this year and studmaster Phil Sloane can be contacted on (03) 5433 6306 or 0488 525063.
