Ustinov mare She’s Insatiable has found winning form ahead of the New Zealand Cup (3200m) at Riccarton on November 15.

She’s Insatiable (6m Ustinov – Checkered Past by Pentire) scored a resounding two-length victory in the NZ Cup Trial (1800m) on Saturday.  ”We will just sit back and see how she comes through the win and then make some plans,” part-owner and trainer Terrill Charles said.  “She’s thrives when backing up.”

Charles is based at Ashburton and the mare has been in her care since transferring to the South Island following a Pukekura win for John Sargent in May 2013.  “She loves it down here and Wingatui is her favourite track.  She’s won three races there and it just seems to suit our style of training.”

She’s Insatiable is from the family of champion galloper Mahogany (Last Tycoon).  Her dam Checkered Past won a half-dozen races on either side of the Tasman for Shaune Ritchie and Chris Waller.

Ustinov (USA) stands for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee and he is based north of Ballarat at Moorookyle Park.
