A total of 842 Lots will be offered at a bumper Inglis Melbourne Great Southern Sale at Oaklands Junction from June 18-21.
Within the catalogue, there 459 weanling lots, 284 broodmares and a number of yearlings and tried horses.
A total of 56 Victorian sires are represented in the weanling section including leading stallions Written Tycoon, Magnus, Helmet and Reward For Effort.
Additionally, progeny of 10 Victorian first crop sires will have their first foals on show. These include Brazen Beau, Cluster, Hampton Court, Jimmy Creed, Puissance De Lune, Rock Hero, The Wow Signal, Toronado, Warhorse and Warrior’s Reward.
Other sires represented include Zoustar, Manhattan Rain, So You Think, Sebring, More Than Ready, I Am Invincible, Choisir, Hinchinbrook, Deep Field and Dissident.
All Victorian sired weanlings are eligible for the world leading multi million dollar VOBIS scheme with most also eligible to race in the inaugural $1.5 million VOBIS Sires race series.
Of the 284 broodmares being offered are mares in foal to the likes of Written Tycoon, I Am Invincible, Foxwedge, Nicconi, Sebring, So You Think and Brazen Beau.
A number mares will be offered in foal to 2016’s exciting new additions to the Victorian stallion roster such as Dandino, Night of Thunder, Nostradamus, Ready for Victory, Sports Edition and Trust In a Gust
Group 3 winner Scarlet Billows (Street Boss) is one of the highlight broodmare lots in the catalogue, together with other high quality breeding and racing stock.
Inglis’ Victorian Bloodstock Manager Simon Vivian is thrilled with the strength of the catalogue.
“The Inglis team spent a lot of time canvassing our clients and encouraging them to support the sale with quality stock,” Vivian said.
“The weanling session has attracted some outstanding pinhook and racing opportunities.
“In recent years, we have seen horses like Mongolian Khan graduate to Group 1 success on the track, while many pinhooked youngsters have afforded their purchasers massive returns.”
Another weanling to go through this sale is the Makybe bred, Hong Kong star Mr Stunning who is currently ranked as one of the world’s top 20 highest rated horses.
In additon, recent Group winners Benz and Take Pride have been through the weanling auction ring at Oaklands Junction.
