A sensational weekend for Canford Cliffs continued on Sunday when his filly Most Beautiful won the G3 Grangecon Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

The Blue Gum shuttler had sired Painted Cliffs to a Group 2 victory in the Railway Stakes a day earlier at the Curragh.

Most Beautiful (2f Canford Cliffs – Saphira’s Fire by Cape Cross) was an impressive maiden winner at Navan beating Waterloo Bridge and he since went on to win the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.

“She’s always worked like a good filly,” trainer David Wachman said after watching her step into Group company.  “She’s big and is still a bit weak, you could see that in the last furlong.  She has a nice future.

Most Beautiful holds Group 1 entries for the Phoenix Stakes and Moyglare Stud Stakes.  “She’s well-entered up and will go further,” Wachman declared.  “The one thing is she likes goodish ground.”
Her dam won the LR Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket and she graduated from the 2014 Tattersalls October yearling sale for 120,000gns (AUD 160,550).

Blue Gum Farm is standing Canford Cliffs for a $13,750 (inc gst) fee in 2015.
