Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria is the peak industry and representative body for Victorian thoroughbred breeders. Established to promote and advance the interests of the thoroughbred and its breeders TBV fosters a unified approach in promoting the industry and Victorian bred horses both locally, nationally and internationally.

TBV is officially recognised as the authorized representative of the thoroughbred breeding industry in Victoria by Australian and State Governments, Racing Victoria, Race Clubs, the Australian Stud Book, Veterinary Associations, the Australian Horse Council, Universities and many other organisations with whom the Association works to promote the industry.

TBV is representative of breeders in Governmental issues relating to the industry and provides accurate and authoritative advice and information to members and to the general public on any aspect of the thoroughbred industry.

TBV has three representatives on the board of the national body – Thoroughbred Breeders Australian (TBA) taking a Victorian perspective to TBA on issues of national and international importance.

The affairs of TBV are overseen by a board comprising of up to ten members who are elected by the association’s members.

Applications for membership to the Association are welcomed from anyone interested in the thoroughbred.
