The VOBIS Gold deadline is fast approaching with Racing Victoria (RV) closing nominations for the 2017-born foal crop, this Friday 30 August 2019.
VOBIS Gold offers bonuses of $20,000 on over 250 races each season across metropolitan and country Victoria.
All horses nominated to VOBIS Gold are also eligible to race in the exclusive VOBIS Gold Premier Race Series, which features 18 races offering prizemoney and bonuses totalling $4.65 million dollars.
If your horse is sired by a VOBIS Sire, your VOBIS Gold nomination will get you one step closer to a start in The Showdown worth $1 million dollars in 2020. The inaugural running of the race occurred in April this year and was won by the Matt Laurie trained Prince of Sussex, who was sired by Swettenham Stud sire Toronado.
Originally purchased for $145,000 at the Melbourne Premier Yearling sale in 2018, Laurie fell in love with Prince of Sussex at first sight.
“This horse was a stand-out to be honest,” Laurie said. “I thought he was a $200,000-plus horse.”
“He’s an outstanding-looking horse, and it was just a matter of taking a punt on a first-season sire and for Toronado and what a start he’s had.” He said.
To ensure you get one step closer to The Showdown in 2020 and are eligible to race for $4.65 million dollars, make sure you nominate your 2017-born horse by clicking here or downloading a nomination form here.
