The progeny of Written Tycoon are expected to be snapped up like hot cakes at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast January Sale.

The hot favourite for the $2 million 2YO Classic, Capitalist is a son of Written Tycoon while Dieters (also by Written Tycoon) is among the better contenders behind him.

Woodside Park, the home of the leading Victorian sire, has five of the seven impressive Written Tycoon yearlings in the catalogue.

Matt Tillett, Bloodstock & Sales Manager at Woodside Park, is enormously positive about this year’s edition of the farm’s draft on the Gold Coast.

“We have a fantastic draft of 10 yearlings this year. We have a couple of beauties by young gun sires All Too Hard and Sepoy and a few crackers by the proven champion stallions including Commands, Lonhro and Starspangledbanner.”

“We also have the majority of our resident stallion Written Tycoon’s representatives in the sale which I’m sure will be the talk of the sale with Capitalist being the short priced favourite for the $2 million 2yo Classic race.”

A couple of the Woodside Park draft highlights are below.

Full details of the Woodside Park draft

Lot 157 – Bay or brown colt, Written Tycoon x Dexcellent
This very impressive colt by Written Tycoon looks a real racehorse. He is very typical of what his sire throws; size, scope, bone, great conformation and a great attitude.
He is out of a winning, full-sister to Sir Dex and from the family of Group 1 winners Secret Admirer and Donegal Mist. Being one of only seven lots by Capitalist’s sire in the sale, I’m sure he won’t spend much time in his box.

Lot 208 – Chestnut filly, All Too Hard x Factor of Safety
This magnificent All Too Hard filly is possibly the standout of our draft. Physically she is outstanding, she is strong and correct and has a great nature too.

She is out of a lovely Encosta De Lago half-sister to Gathering and Florentina. The mating was an interesting one for the pedigree buffs as it features a duplication of blue hen mare Rolls and obviously she is from the first crop of champion All Too Hard, so I’m sure she will be extremely popular.
