Official entries are now open for the 2017 Inglis Ready2Race Sale, which this year will be held at Oaklands Junction on Wednesday October 4th.
This is the first time in nearly a decade such a breeze up sale has been held in Victoria.
Inglis has indicated that initial vendor interest in the sale has been immense, with in excess of 100 entries already received.
Of the early entries, leading sires such as I Am Invincible, Fastnet Rock, High Chaparral, Sebring, Written Tycoon, More Than Ready, Medaglia d’Oro and Reward For Effort, are represented.
In addition, progeny of Victorian First Crop Sires including Zoustar, Fighting Sun, Kuroshio, Unencumbered and War are also entered.
Last year, 16 Victorian vendors ventured to the sale in Sydney with more than half of the lots in the catalogue.
Dean Harvey’s Baystone Farm at Gnarwarre sold the equal sales-topper, a Smart Missile colt, for $310,000 while also securing $300,000 for a Street Cry colt.
Meanwhile, a Super VOBIS nominated Written Tycoon colt was also sold for $310,000 and is now owned by Bob Peters in Western Australia.
The 2016 sale has already produced Group 3 winner Debellatio for trainer Fred Kersley and Saturday metropolitan winner Go Daddy Go for Anthony Cummings.
For this year’s sale, Cranbourne Turf Club will host two breeze-up sessions ahead of the sale, on Monday September 4 and Monday October 2.
The Sydney breeze-up will be held at Canterbury Racecourse on Friday September 8.
Online entry forms will be available soon. In the interim, to enter, contact the Inglis Melbourne office on 03 9333 1422.
