Two Bays Farm are a regular at the Melbourne Premier sale. For the farm located on the Mornington Peninsula, the sale is their main sale for the year.

Two Bays will offer 19 yearlings at Oaklands Junction for the coming sale.

With a wide range of stallions on offer from first season sires right through to some of the top ten stallions, with progeny from Sebring, Magnus, Flying Artie, Divine Prophet and Toronado, the draft offers something for everyone.

“The draft really is diverse and for trainers, they will definitely find something which appeals to them. The other benefit is most of our horses are nominated for VOBIS,” Rob Carlile commented.

With such a big draft, it was always going to be hard to have to pick only a few highlights, but Rob highlights the following as ones to watch through the ring.

One lot which will go through the ring early on day one of the sale, is lot 8, a colt out of a Canny Lad mare, Ellas.

“He is a lovely big scopey colt out of a mare who has done a really good job at stud,” Rob commented.

The mare has had three foals to race, all of which are winners. The Victorian-bred colt on offer for sale, has the likes of Street Cry, Helsinki, Shamardal and Territories in his family.

The next lot which Rob mentions is lot 144, a colt bred by Two Bays Farm, out of the Street Sense mare Loading Zone.

The mare has produced the stakes winner Military Zone who has had five wins with three of those being stakes wins.

“He’s a really nice horse and his half-brother is a multiple stakes winner,” Rob said.

The next lot which Rob mentions is lot 326, a colt sired by Brazen Beau out of Sheeza Commander.

The dam is the half-sister to the stakes winner Jacqueline Rouge and stakes placed Sheila’s Star.

“He is a big strong colt and just moves easily over the ground. With Brazen Beau progeny doing well on racetracks with the likes of General Beau, On the Bubbles and North Pacific, he is one to inspect,” Rob commented.

The final highlight which Rob mentions is lot 389, the Makybe Breeding and Racing bred, Sebring x Tempting filly.

Tempting is the full sister to Hurtle Myrtle the Group 1 Myer Classic winner. The filly is also Super VOBIS nominated with Rob commenting; “She is a strong sort of filly which gets along really well. She has a bit of a tough demeanour, which I like in a filly, and carries herself really well.”

“This draft would not be made possible without the continued support of some great clients who continue to back us in. I would also like to thank the team at home, who have put their hearts and souls into getting these horses to sale. They have done a fantastic job and should be very proud of the way these horses are presented,” Rob enthused.

The Two Bays draft will be available for inspections at Oaklands Junction from lunchtime on Tuesday the 23rd of February 2021.
