Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) members returned Caroline Duddy, Toby Liston, Sam Fairgray and James O’Brien to the Board from the recent member ballot vote. 

The four incumbents and one other candidate, Susan Zietz of Lanichi Thoroughbreds, stood for the four vacant positions. 

TBV would like to thank Susan Zietz for her expression to join the TBV Board and wish her all the best for the season.

James O’Brien – TBV President stated, “I would like to congratulate my fellow committee members for their success in the election and their return to the TBV Board. The TBV Board is a diverse, representative cross-section of the Victorian industry.”

At the following Board meeting James O’Brien was reappointed as President and Kayley Johnson and Sam Fairgray were appointed as Vice-Presidents.

Kayley joined the TBV Board back in 2018 and has a deep understanding of the Victorian breeding industry and has also been a key project member in the change of format for the 2019 TBV annual awards night. Kayley is one of the Principal’s of Rushton Park Thoroughbreds and offers insight to an array of issues which face our industry.

Sam joined the TBV Board in May of 2019 and is passionate about education in the industry and championing the next generation. Sam has brought a unique insight to many issues and TBV believe Sam’s skillset, experience and knowledge will continue to be of benefit to the Victorian breeding industry.

James O’Brien expressed his gratitude for Roger’s tenure as Vice-President, “I would like to thank Roger for the seven years he has given to TBV as Vice-President and I am delighted Roger will continue represent Victorian breeders in his position as committee member. Roger has provided invaluable support as Vice-President and I would like to congratulate Kayley and Sam being appointed by their peers as Vice-Presidents of TBV. I look forward to their contributions as Vice-Presidents.”
