Springview’s Peter Smith could not be happier with the way in which Swift Alliance has settled in at Euroa, the handsome stallion quickly adapting to his new surroundings and impressing all who see him.
“He is just a lovely horse and a pleasure to do anything with. He has such a beautiful laid-back temperament, anyone can lead him around,” Smith enthused.
“For me that is the stand-out thing about him. As a trainer I realise the importance of a sensible horse and I am very excited about Swift Alliance’s future.”
Despite limited opportunities to date Swift Alliance is starting to put the score on the board with his son Chief Advocate an impressive maiden winner in Queensland this week.
Chief Advocate hails from his sire’s small debut crop of just four named foals, one that also produced the winner First Alliance and the promising Clarton Super who trialled nicely in Singapore recently having been sold to the David Hill stable off an eye-catching fast finishing third at his Wyong debut.
A very good looking stallion (as is his sire Don Eduardo, one of the great Zabeel’s finest), Swift Alliance has also enjoyed good sales results with renowned judge Paul Moroney securing a colt out of Dal Dal for $60,000 at this year’s Inglis Classic.
With Swift Alliance arriving late in the breeding season, Smith has not had a lot of time to promote the promising stallion but is happy with the response he has already had – the eleven-year-old kept busy serving over 30 mares.
“And he has been getting them all in foal, his fertility is great.”
A high quality performer who won nine of his 19 starts and over $625,000 in stakes, Swift Alliance was three times successful at Group 3 level, also winning two Listed events and only just missing out on Group 1 success when second in the Galaxy.
All involved with him loved him – “he has so much brilliant speed and digs so deep, he is very exciting,” said trainer Gai Waterhouse.
“I really think he is a top class sprinter,” said Gooree Stud’s Andrew Baddock while jockey Nash Rawiller said “this horse has a heart as big as himself. He is a little champion in his own right, he never lets you down.”
Standing at a fee of $3300 (incl gst), Swift Alliance is an exciting owner/breeder prospect. For further details contact Peter Smith on 0418 531 255.
