Supreme Thoroughbred’s Brunch with the foals
Last Sunday, Supreme Thoroughbreds opened the gates at their Romsey property and invited loyal clients and guests to visit this seasons foals, who may very well be the next superstars to grace our tracks.
Established by Neil & Sue Shaw and Brent & Adrienne Grayling, the Supreme team have been operating out of their Portingales Lane property since 2008. The property is 120 acres and is mainly used for foaling down, catering to mares in foal and yearling preparation.
Their Romsey property is one of three properties that the Supreme team manage, with their second property ten minutes down the road, which boasts a generous 160 acres and the third in Diggers Rest which is home to 200 acres.
Supreme Thoroughbreds pride themselves on a family friendly approach and this is truly evident in the way they operate. Surrounded by their children and grand-children, guests were greeted by the next generation of the industry, Cody at the gate handing out name badges.
Guests were treated to a lovely brunch of homemade soups, cakes and other scrumptious goodies before heading over to the barn to have some beautiful young foals paraded for them.
The team at Supreme paraded a wonderful bunch of looking foals, with Victorian stallions represented by Woodside Park Stud sire Written Tycoon, Sun Stud sires Bel Esprit, Magnus, Love Conquers All, Darley sire Impending and new resident Swettenham sire, Akeed Mofeed.
As most would know, the breeding season is always busy, and this season has seen Supreme Thoroughbreds, foal down almost 200 mares for clients and farms such as Spendthrift and Sun Stud.
Supreme Thoroughbreds also have several broodmares who have now been retired and are living out their days on their properties.
While the breeding season has almost come to an end, yearling prep is only around the corner.
Supreme Thoroughbreds will be once again targeting the Melbourne Premier sale with a quality draft, which they have no doubt will produce a superstar or two to grace our tracks.
