Star Exhibit claimed his second and biggest stakes win to date on New Year’s Eve taking out the $500,000 Group 2 Perth Cup.
It was the third consecutive quinella in the race for the omnipotent Bob Peters and his seventh win overall in the 2400 metre race.
The son of Statue Of Liberty (USA) had earned his first stakes success at his previous start in the Listed ATA Stakes.
His overall record stands at 8 wins, 3 seconds and 2 thirds from 17 starts with earnings of $677,275
The Bob and Sandra Peters homebred is the first foal of Star Encounter (Jeune) who earned just a single Listed stakes win, but placed in the WA Oaks, WA Derby and Strickland Stakes on the way to compiling earnings of $563,090.
Star Encounter currently resides at Avenel’s Millford Thoroughbreds who take care of many of the Peters breeding stock.
Richard Byers from Millford reports the mare had a healthy full brother this past breeding season and has been bred back to Statue of Liberty.
Star Exhibit is one of 19 stakes-winners for Sun Stud’s royally bred Statue Of Liberty (USA).
The sire is having one of his better racing seasons of his stud careers. This included a Christmas-New Year purple patch of three stakes winners and numerous other winners across Australia and Japan.
