Three weeks ago we previewed a selection of Victorian bred entrants for the Group 1 three year old features of the Spring, the Caulfield and Thousand Guineas.

Now, with just 15 sleeps until the big races at Caulfield, there remain an impressive group of colts/geldings and fillies in with a chance to achieve Spring glory.

As mentioned in the previous preview, 2015’s Caulfield Guineas featured three Victorian bred/sired runners (Lizard Island, Ready for Victory, & Bon Aurum) while the 2015 Thousand Guineas also contained three (Jameka, Take Pride & Super Cash).

Three of the past seven Caulfield Guineas winners have been Victorian bred (Long John, All Too Hard & Starspangledbanner) while three of the past eight Thousand Guineas winners were bred by Victorians (Amicus, Yosei & Gallica).

Below are a large selection of the Victorian bred and/or sired three-year-olds which still have an entry in either of the races. No doubt since second acceptances, connections of some of these horses will have focused their targets elsewhere.

Amongst this group of horses, racing tomorrow in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude are: Valliano, Archives, Wazzenme, So Si Bon, I’m Telling Ya and Larrikin. Lining up in the Thousand Guineas Prelude tomorrow are: Whispering Brook, La Luna Rossa and Sword of Light.

Others racing this weeked include:

  • Tris in the Scaborough Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night
  • Urban Ruler at Morphetville on Saturday
  • Pecans in the Listed Reginald Allen Quality at Rosehill
  • Tiamo Grace at Murtoa
  • Pygmy at Kembla Grange
  • Chester Row at Geelong on Sunday

Good luck over the next two weeks to all of the Victorian breds and their breeders as they seek their place in the feature three year old Group 1 races!
