Blue Gum Farm received another update for its Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale consignment courtesy of last-start Cranbourne winner Daniela Rosa.
The Mike Moroney trained filly broke through at her second start with a clear-cut victory in the Unox Maiden Plate (1300m). Showing speed to sit second, she looked to be under a bit of pressure approaching the home turn but responded well, winning in the style of a horse with plenty more to offer.
Daniela Rosa (Dane Shadow) had run an encouraging fourth at Bendigo debut last August.
“She has always shown ability and it was nice to see her put it together to win first up,” Moroney said.
“Hopefully, it’s onwards and upwards from here.”
The Cranbourne winner was a $70,000 buy for owner Lib Petagna at the 2014 Gold Coast Magic Millions and Blue Gum Farm has her half-brother by Your Song catalogued as Lot 499 at Melbourne Premier.
Their dam Celestial Babe is owned by Victorian based Kingdom Thoroughbreds and was served last spring by Written Tycoon. She is by Galileo and her NZ Group 1 winning dam Ballroom Babe has produced the stakes winners Just Dancing, Tahni Girl and Hidden Dragon.
Group 1 Victorian Derby winner Polanski, who stands at Ducks Crossing on the Mornington peninsula, is another close relation.
Blue Gum Farm has 12 yearlings by Canford Cliffs at Melbourne Premier including the half-sister to Group 2 winning filly Fontiton (Lot 265).
