Victorians are getting Ready 2 Race

With exactly two weeks until the Inglis Ready 2 Race sale, Victorian breeders are ensuring their drafts are ready to go for the sale at Riverside Stables.
The catalogue has attracted 191 2YOs, with 27 lots VOBIS nominated and 91 lots sold by Victorian breeders or sired by Victorian stallions.
At Cranbourne on the 13th of October, the fastest lot of the day was lot 20, a colt from the Lauriston Thoroughbred draft who breezed up in 10.37 seconds.
“We’ve had some terrific success out of this sale with our graduates. We specifically want to identify horses that we believe can go on and become quality racehorses in the future and win many races for connections.’’ James O’Brien said.
Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm will take a draft of 12 to the Ready 2 Race sale.
Victorian farm, Musk Creek had two stand out colts which finished slightly behind lot 20. Lot 39 a colt by Unencumbered, breezed up in 10.63 seconds and their lot 24 finished the 200-metre dash in 10.65 seconds.
Musk Creek feature a draft of 13 2YOs headed to this sale and will take a Magnus colt out of Believe ‘n’ Conquer and a Toronado colt out of Canasta Queen.
Swettenham sire Akeed Mofeed is represented by four lots in the sale and sire of the inaugural winner of The Showdown, Toronado, will be represented by lot 27 and lot 133.
Sun Stud stallions have a healthy representation at the sale. Bel Esprit has a colt going through the ring as lot 33 and a filly as lot 77, Fighting Sun will see a colt as lot 102 go under the hammer, Magnus has three lots and Squamosa will see two colts be offered for sale by Gippsland Bloodstock.
