Following on from a busy week at the Inglis Premier sale, Adam Palmer’s Princess Park Thoroughbreds and their yearling manager Jenny Saunders have now headed over the border for the Adelaide Magic Millions sale at Morphettville.

“It’s was brilliant to hear the positive feedback at the Melbourne Premier on how well our horses looked and paraded over the inspection period from buyers.”

“We ended up with a big draft of horses, and they all came up beautifully and were on point for sale day. We want to thank our clients for trusting in the Princess Park operation to prepare their horses.”

Saunders has years of yearling experience, having prepped large drafts of horses for Eliza Park, Eliza Park International and Sun Stud for over 15 years.

Off the back of a brilliant sale at the Adelaide Magic Millions last year, where Princess Park had the highest average of any farm taking 5 of more yearlings to the sales, they are looking forward to the sale ahead.

“We were ecstatic with the results last year, and this year we have been very selective and gathered a group of horses specifically suited to the Adelaide buying bench. The horses were not entered in any other sale, rather chosen for their strengths to standout here in South Australia.”

With a lovely group of 12 yearlings in the draft, Saunders has selected four of her quality lots to highlight:

Lot 122 is a chestnut colt by Written Tycoon out of the Testa Rossa mare Rossa Mia, a half-sister to Group 2 winner Stokehouse and the Listed winner Malasun.

“This colt was pin-hooked from Sydney, and although he was accepted in the Gold Coast sale, we didn’t want him to become lost amongst 30 Written Tycoon’s.”

“Sure, to be a standout, he is the only Written Tycoon colt at Adelaide. We have put the finishing polish on him, so he is spot on for this sale. He has a lovely head and abundant strength, and he will be very popular here in Adelaide.”

The next colt to be highlighted is Lot 251, a colt by popular sire Rich Enuff, out of the Dehere mare Bridie’s Love. Pin-hooked from Woodside Park Stud, specifically for the Adelaide sale.

“He is strong, well developed, athletic colt, with a great walk. He has progressed beautifully during the preparation and will be on point for sale day.”

Lot 87 is the Nicconi sired colt out of the Fasliyev mare, Our Sharapova. With seven foals to race, all winners this colt will be sure to keep her record intact.

“Following on from the success we had with our Nicconi colt we sold here last year, we are delighted to be offering another in our draft. He looks just like his sire and will have a lot of presence on the complex.”

“A strong, balanced colt that has prepped up beautifully, with a big, loose athletic walk, coupled with a powerful hindquarter.”

Their final colt to be highlighted is Lot 186 the Sepoy colt out of Pentire mare, Vexation (NZ). From the family of Group 3 VRC winner Sky Trist.

“He caught our eye with the strength of him, and we knew he would develop into a sensational colt. The perfect height with a great head, and a super walk, he is exactly what the buyers want at Adelaide.”

“All of our horses are very well suited to the buying bench, being great types with running pedigrees. We have made sure Princess Park are offering precisely what the market demands.”

While after Adelaide, it does not stop there for Saunders and the team, as they will be straight back preparing a draft of five for the Inglis Gold sale on the 28th April at Oaklands.

“It’s all go at the moment, and although Inglis Gold is our last sale as a vendor, we are looking forward to putting on our buyer’s hat, and hitting the weanlings sales to select next year’s standout yearlings, to sell under the Princess Park Thoroughbreds banner.”
