Three-year-old filly Mystified (Wanted) was at it again on Saturday when socring her second Melbourne win in a row at Caulfield.
The athletic filly, bred on the Mornington Peninsula by Two Bays Farm produced a sharp turn of foot, lengthening magnificently in her action and winning over 1100 metres.
With three wins from her five career starts, the Ryan Balfour trained Adelaide based filly has now banked more than $141,000 for connections including $45,500 in VOBIS bonuses.
Balfour picked up the filly for a mere $20,000 at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from Two Bays Farm.
“She’s always shown a bit from the start. As she’s matured and developed physically, she’s only got bigger and stronger,” Balfour said about Mystified.
It is expected the filly will be freshened up now in preparation for stakes races during the autumn in Adelaide.
She is the first and only foal out of the a Northern Hemisphere bred mare Ice Mist (Forest Danger), who was purchased by Seamus Mills Bloodstock from the Keeneland Sales in 2011. Unfortunately the mare passed away in 2014.
Two Bays is sending one yearling to the upcoming Magic Millions yearling sale which will be sold through the Marquee Stud draft. See the full details of the filly, lot 25.
Sun Stud sire Wanted (Fastnet Rock) was the winner of the famed Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington before being retired to stud.
His two biggest crops of foals are now two and three years old so expect to see quite a deal more success for the Sun Stud sire over the remainder of the racing season and beyond.
