God’s Own stands at Greta west stud.
Greta West Stud stallion God’s Own has jumped the blocks with 13 winners of 14 races midway through the opening month of the new season.
God’s Own was runner-up to Bel Esprit in the 2013-14 Victorian winners and wins title and they have already paired off at the top of the table early days this term.
Eliza Park International champion Bel Esprit (11 winners / wins) is well ahead of next best Domesday and Elvstroem (6 winners / wins).
Miss Beauty World logged the latest maiden result for God’s Own in the Giddy Up Geelong Plate (1100m) on Sunday. Racing for just the second time after a 23 week spell, she was allowed to drop out by Nick Hall before working into the finish in workmanlike fashion.
There was only a short-neck and nose between the placegetters but it was the way she did it that pleased trainer Robert Smerdon. “Her recent jump out was encouraging and we expected her to be in the mix. She races for a great group and their smiles told the story – it was a pleasure to celebrate and take a few photos with them in the owners bar after the win.”
Miss Beauty World (4m God’s Own – Beauty World by Danehill Dancer) was initially trained by Tony Vasil and had raced greenly at her only other run at Cranbourne in March. She is a half-sister to last year’s Moonee Valley LR Abell Stakes winner Loveyamadly (Bel Esprit).
Gods Own (Redoute’s Choice) will stand for a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee at Greta West Stud this year.
