Seven Victorian breeding industry members have nominated for the TBV Committee causing an election to go ahead over coming weeks.
This is the first election in many years for TBV.
The TBV Annual General Meeting was held under sunny skies at Seymour racecourse on Saturday in a beautifully located trackside marquee.
Long serving committee members Christine Mills and Rosemary Inglis had already indicated their desire to step down from the committee. Meanwhile the committee terms of TBV President James O’Brien and Toby Liston had expired.
The seven nominations for the four vacancies on the committee are (in alphabetical surname order):
- Garry Cuddy (Spendthrift Australia)
- Caroline Duddy (Riverbank Farm)
- Toby Liston (Three Bridges Thoroughbreds) – incumbent
- James O’Brien (Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm) – incumbent
- Betty Taylor
- Matthew Tillett (Woodside Park)
- Susan Zeitz
Under the TBV rules, a postal vote election will now be conducted to determine which of the seven will be elected to the four committee positions.
All financial and life members of TBV will receive, over the coming week, a postal ballot to be filled in and sent back to the TBV Office. The mail-out will also include details of each candidate.
Anyone wishing to check their financial status with TBV or seek further information on the election should contact TBV Executive Officer Patrick Clancy by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or (03) 9258 4233.
